Husband and wife team, Lou and Norma DiCocco, founded the DiCocco Family St. Jude Shop, Inc. over forty-five years ago and it is now among the largest inspirational and religious gifts retailers in the United States. Over forty-five years ago, Lou DiCocco was working as a civil engineer supporting his wife and four fine sons when Norma learned that she was once more to have a baby. She prayed to St. Jude - the saint of the impossible - for a longed for daughter and vowed to name the baby for the saint if her wish was granted. Judy was born three weeks later than expected on October28, St. Jude's Day. Over a year late the DiCoccos began to plan a new venture and eventually the first family St. Jude Gift Shop, Inc. was opened on October28. The St. Jude Shops prominently display the beautiful Catholic Bibles together with Sunday Missals, prayer books and children's Bible stories. Over the years other St. Jude Shop branches have opened and always on October28.
