St. Anthony of Padua was born at Lisbon Portugal, in 1195. St. Anthony's surname comes the latter part of his life. St. Anthony's parents were members of the Portuguese nobility; his father was a knight at the court of King Alfonso II. Anthony died on June 13,1231, at the age of thirty-six. Ever since his death, St. Anthony has done wonderful things for those who pray to him. He is still the "Franciscan Miracle-Worker".
