The Celtic High Crosses of the late 8th-12th centuries are masterpieces of hewn native stone. Our Celtic High Cross " Imperial" Paschal Candle follows this legacy in both spirit and tradition. A Trinity knot graces the top of the cross, symbol of Father, Son and Spirit...three ichyhus are inherent in this design. A true Celtic knot with no beginning and no end illuminates the bottom of the cross. The disinguishing ring of the High Crosses is present here, the symbol of Eternity and the endlessness of God's love. Look closely and see the imprint of a Sand Dollar at the centre of the cross-five golden rays gently emanate, symbolizing the five wounds of our Lord Jesus Christ.

The legend of the Sand Dollar tells that if the shell is broken, five "doves" will be revealed, and we offer five incensed nails each bearing a golden Sand Dollar dove: the number five is the number of grace. The Background setting for this striking cross is comparable to rich suede, and caresses the candle in two shades-deep green as homage to the Celtic High Crosses, and sea-foam green for a perfect contrast. Buckles, radiant with gold and featuring doves and simple carved knot work, bear the Alpha and Omega, and the year.
