St. Juliana

Saint Juliana of Nicomedia was a Christian martyr of the early 4th century. According to tradition, she was the daughter of a pagan named Africanus and was betrothed to a nobleman named Eleusius. However, Juliana converted to Christianity and refused to marry Eleusius unless he converted as well. Her steadfast refusal led to her arrest and brutal torture. She endured numerous trials for her faith and was eventually beheaded for her refusal to renounce Christianity. Juliana is remembered for her courage, faith, and the strength she showed in the face of intense persecution.
