Venerable Matt Talbot

Venerable Matt Talbot was an Irish ascetic revered for his piety and devotion. Born into a poor family in Dublin, he struggled with alcoholism for many years but eventually achieved sobriety through his faith. Talbot dedicated the rest of his life to prayer, penance, and helping the poor. Despite never formally entering a religious order, he lived a life of remarkable holiness and is considered a model of Christian virtue.
