St. Rose of Lima

Saint Rose of Lima was a 17th-century Peruvian saint and the first person born in the Americas to be canonized by the Catholic Church. Known for her piety and devotion from a young age, she dedicated her life to prayer, penance, and caring for the sick and poor. Rose took a vow of virginity at a young age and lived a life of extreme austerity and self-denial. Despite facing criticism and misunderstanding, she remained steadfast in her faith. Saint Rose of Lima is remembered for her holiness and her example of love and service to others.
