St. Peregrine

Saint Peregrine Laziosi was an Italian Servite friar who lived in the 14th century. He is venerated as the patron saint of cancer patients, AIDS patients, and those suffering from other serious illnesses, due to his own miraculous healing from cancer. Peregrine was initially hostile to the Church but experienced a conversion after witnessing the kindness of a Servite friar. He joined the Servite Order and dedicated himself to prayer, penance, and serving the sick. Peregrine is often depicted with a cancerous sore on his leg, which was reportedly miraculously healed. He is revered for his faith, humility, and compassion for the sick and suffering.
