St. Kateri Tekakwitha

Saint Kateri Tekakwitha, also known as Lily of the Mohawks, was an Algonquin–Mohawk laywoman from what is now present-day New York in the United States. She converted to Christianity as a young woman and became known for her devotion to her faith and her care for the sick and elderly. Kateri was persecuted for her beliefs but remained steadfast in her devotion. She is remembered for her humility, chastity, and deep spirituality.
