The Gothic Chalice with Scale Paten

The Gothic chalice and 6.5" scale paten with ring. Exquisite deep relief work, depicting the Four Evangelists imbedded into node chapels, Christ and the Twelve Apostles on the cup and a deep sculptured "Flower of Passion" motif on the base. Chalice and paten made in 925 sterling silver and  gold lined. Measurements: 10 3/8" Height, 4" cup, 13 Oz. capacity. Paten ~ 6.5 diameter. "The Gothic" chalice was originally commissioned under special request by The Vatican as a present to Pope John Paul II to commemorate his 50th anniversary in the priesthood.
